Students Win Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority's Third Annual Metedeconk River Watershed, Mascot, Slogan and PSA Competition
Congratulations to fourth grade student, Leo McConnell, and seventh grade students, Alexandria Talamyan and Sarah Ebinger, for winning the mascot and public service announcement portions of the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority's (BTMUA) Third Annual Metedeconk River Watershed, Mascot, Slogan and PSA Competition.

Leo McConnell's mascot, "Henry the Hawk," and Alexandria Talamayan and Sarah Ebinger's public service announcement will be used in Brick Utilities' watershed outreach program.

During Mrs. Liguori's art class, students learned about native (local) New Jersey animals and created mascots based on those animals. Under the direction of Mrs. Arnold, students created (filmed) public service announcements about saving the Metedeconk River Watershed.

The students have been invited to the BTMUA's public meeting on May 25th to receive awards and plaques memorializing their accomplishments. "Henry the Hawk" and the other submitted mascots will be featured on a poster at the Barnegat Bay Festival being held on June 4, 2017, at the Wanamaker Complex in Island Heights.

The BTMUA would like to thank students who participated in this year's competition and hope that you will continue supporting the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority's efforts in preserving the Metedeconk River Watershed, our main supply of drinking water!
